Venerable
Rene Feusi
|
Venerable René was born in
Switzerland in 1959. He first encountered Buddhism at the age of
20, when he attended the annual November course at Kopan
Monastery in Nepal. When he was 26 he took getsul (novice)
ordination in Dharamsala, India and took (gelong) full
ordination the following year. |
In 1988, René entered Nalanda Monastery in France and studied with Geshe Tegchok for four years during which time he also completed the traditional 900,000 preliminary practices (including 100,000 Vajrasattva recitations, 100,000 prostrations etc). Between 1993 to 1995 he completed a 2 1/2 year solitary retreat in Spain. Since then Venerable René has continued to study, teach and guide students in meditation and retreats worldwide, following the experiential lineage of Lama Yeshe and Lama Zopa Rinpoche.
He has been sharing this experiential approach for the past 23 years. He helps students get an intuition of their own inner potential and inspires them to become meditators themselves.
Venerable René’s fascination for how the mind works and how it can be positively transformed is infectious: “Life is exciting. The spiritual journey is about becoming a better human being and give our lives far reaching meaning. The whole spiritual work is challenging, it’s creative and it’s fun.”

Some comments
from his students:
"Venerable
René has been the source of profound happiness and contentment
in my life. He has deeply changed it for the better. May he live
long."
"What
goes on is phenomenal. He takes me by the hand and gently shows
me how to get a sense, a feeling, a glimpse of how things really
are. Then alone I know how to find that place again and
cultivate it."
"Venerable
Rene has helped me to advance my meditation practice to places
I've never gone before."
"What a
fantastic teacher! Wonderfully gentle and compassionate with
penetrating insight and extremely practical."

Long
Life Prayer for Ven. René Feusi
February, 2006
From the West you went East
and subdued your own mind.
Morality is your ground.
You wear the saffron robes
teach the path to freedom.
Success is up to us.
Hope springs forth from your
words
to reach a state of bliss –
Not for oneself alone.
We have this perfect chance
it won’t last very long –
A flash and then it’s gone.
The path you teach is clear
the one we must give up –
Our self-cherishing thought.
It leads us down the path
to all our suffering
That-one that doesn’t exist at all.
It’s your perfect example
your sweet words of sound advice
That help us on our way.
One step at a time
through the stages of the path
And “chu-chu-chu” we’re there!
May your retreat bear fruit
exactly as you wish.
We’ll wait here patiently.
To hear your words again
and see your smiling face
Oh Lama please, please live long
Yes, Lama, please, please live long
Dear Lama, please, please live long.
