Vajrapani Insitute is happy to announce our first annual Teen Camp.
An offshoot of Vajrapani's Family camp, this camp will give teens a fun, friendly space to explore deeper issues in life through lively discussion, fun activities, guided meditations of various types, and time to chill with new friends.
The camp will have two tracks: One for teens and one for parents.
In our teen track, working with leaders who understand how challenging teen life can be, we will explore how we think, how we act, and how we use our dharma in our daily life. We hope to help teens tap into their innate intelligence so they can create happier lives now and in the future. The program is Buddhist-based and the activities will all be teen-friendly and teen-focused.
The parent’s program, “Managing Emotions Under Pressure,” will be taught by Dr. Lois Greenwood, founding member of Family Camp. It will examine what Buddhism calls “the three core destructive emotions of Attachment, Anger and Indifference” and how to apply antidotes that move us from knee-jerk reaction patterns to more skillful responses
to troubling situations.
All families with teens 13-18 are invited to inquire. While this is a perfect venue for Teens and their families, we welcome applicants of Teens attending on their own.
Teen Family Camp will begin the evening of July 18th, with dinner at 5:30pm and conclude by 2:30pm on Sunday.
Fees: Sliding Scale $350–$175 per person
