Nyung Naes
June 12-19

UPDATED INFORMATION FOR THIS RETREAT: In order to take advantage of the incredible merit generated by activities done on Sakadawa (Lord Buddha's birth, enlightenment and parinirvana) which is June 18, we have rearranged the retreat at the kind and generous suggestion of Ven Sarah so that participants can have a full day of fasting Nyung Nae practice on this special day. This slight modification also allows for an additional set of Nyung Naes.
The retreat will now consist of three Nyung Naes running back to back. Thursday evening will introduce the retreat. Each Nyung Nae will be a two day process with a precept day followed by a fast day. You may take all three Nyung Naes or come for one or two. Simply plan to arrive the afternoon/evening before in order to begin the following day. The retreat will finish the morning of June 19. A full schedule of the daily sessions is being prepared and will be posted shortly. We hope that you can join us for some or all of these purification practices so highly recommended by Lama Zopa Rinpoche. Also, for your awareness: merit is multiplied by 100 million on Sakadawa, so if possible, include the 17-18 June session in your plans.

14 June: NN #1 Fast day

Venerable Sarah Tenzin Yiwong was the resident teacher at Land of Medicine Buddha from 2000 - 2003. Born in London, she earned her bachelor's degree in 1982 and shortly afterwards met the Buddha's teachings at Kopan Monastery, Nepal. Since then she has studied with many great masters and was ordained by His Holiness the Dalai Lama in 1986. She has taught in many countries around the world. We are very lucky to have Ven. Sarah coming to Vajrapani Institute. |
